Hello, nice to e-meet you! Welcome to my page :-)

I am currently a Sophomore at Singapore Management University, studying Information Systems. I have always been fascinated by the power of technology and how it can make a lasting impact on the lives of others. Hence, I made the decision of pursuring a degree that I hope will equip me with the essential skills and basic understanding to make a difference. In my free time, I look to actively build on my current skills as well as learn more through taking on courses, speaking to others and of course, reading some great books.

Projects:

Ditch the Podium for Web Application Development II (A+, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Vue.js, Python, Figma): Designed and developed a flashcards web application with background and text customisation features, presentation mode, timer for optional automatic transitions, and sharing between different users. Prototyped on Figma before development. Cloud Storage features are currently deactivated.
Database Design of Library Management System for Database Management (A+, Microsoft Visio, MySQL Workbench): Designed a entity-relationship model based on a business rules document and implemented it on MySQL Workbench. Model and SQL scripts available upon request.
Canned Foods Business Process Re-Engineering for Business Process Analysis & Solutioning (A, Signavio): Proposed a redesign and optimisation of a canned foods business process through cost and resource analysis of the current process as well as utilising relevant technologies. Report available upon request.
reFresh for Interactive Design & Prototyping (B+, Figma): Conducted empathy research and A/B testing on users, designed a high-fidelity prototype of a food-sharing platform based on analysis of findings and after multiple iterations.
And, of course, this web page! I have dabbled in small projects and courses to further my knowledge but this is the first big-scale project of my own that I have developed.

Current Happenings

Apart from academics, I'm currently involved in quite a few university activities and clubs. One of my favourite things to do is plan events & programmes that help people make memories! I think there's something very special about being part of a team that works together to create something magical for others to enjoy.

Leading the orgainsing committee of Odyssey 2022, SMU's largest networking event with a focus on forging strong, lasting bonds and mentorship.

Serving as Professional Development Director of the 18th Management Committee, bringing in opportunities for growth and development to the student body of SCIS.

Spearheading Coders Assembly, a student-initiated programme, that aims to improve students' coding proficiency while forging a tight-knit community.

Hobbies

Photography: I started taking capturing moments in 2014! It's something that has helped me see the world in a different light, teaching me to focus on the details while keeping the big picture in mind. I've dabbled in a bit of everything - event, portrait, nature as well as street photography! Now, I capture anything fascinating :)
Reading: I've always loved reading. There's something magical about being able to experience the world through the words of another! I don't have a particular genre I gravitate to but I've recently been reading quite a few biographies!
Walking in Nature: I'm a huge fan of being in the outdoors, surrounded by greenery. It's always refreshing and gives me the space to unwind and think. There's also a ton of details such as patterns and contrasts within nature that I find absolutely fascinating. Did you know that trees have friends?

Random Fun Facts

I created a friendship google form that I send out to my friends so as to build a database of their favourite things, making it easier for me to surprise them! Examples of questions include favourite colour as well as allergies.
I have been trying to learn to juggle for quite some time. I've never been the most coordinated so this was a way for me to work on that!
In 2021, I was in the top 3% of Spanish learners on Duolingo. I've been trying to pick it up as a 3rd language and it's been more fun than I anticipated! I'm hoping that I'll be able to follow conversations properly by the end of 2022.
I love discovering new music. According to Spotify Wrapped, I spent 79 372 minutes listening on Spotify!

Fun, Extra Things

Sometimes, I get bored... Usually, I face the world with my camera and snap some photographs. However, some days, the weather doesn't co-operate or I just feel like trying something random & brand new! Those times, I struggle to decide what to do... If you face the same problem, this might help!
